BBQ skewers with a healthy twist for the entire family
Get the flavors, not the calories!
You want to enjoy your holiday BBQ, family time and still be able to have a balanced (or even healthy) meal without having everybody complaining about it?
Then this recipe is for you... and everyone else too!
These skewers can be declined in just about ANY flavor.
VEGETABLES-MEAT-FISH AND FRUIT SKEWERS
- Diced vegetables: bell peppers, zucchini, squash, eggplant, whole mushroom, grape tomatoes, onions, broccoli, carrots...
- Diced meats and fishes: chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, fish (any one)
- Fruit slices: peaches, pineapple, mango, apricots
. Marinate the vegetables in a little oil and fresh herbs: thyme, basil, oregano... or you can use ready to use dried mix like Italian seasoning or herbs de provence
. Marinate the different meats separately with a little oil, thyme and garlic
. Marinate the different fish/shrimp separately with lemon juice, dill and shallots
. Marinate the fruits in lemon juice, vanilla or ginger
. Once everything is ready you can simply have everyone build their own skewers according to their preferences so you make sure each of them, including you, will enjoy their favorite foods, from the meat lovers to vegan cousins!
Even children, under adult supervision, can build their own!
. Grill 15 minutes turning them regularly. If you do not have a BBQ, you can broil them turning on a regular basis, be careful not to burn yourself!
