How to Limit the Extra Pounds During the Holidays

Holidays are here and with them, the perspective of more gatherings, celebrations with overindulging and the extra pounds that go with it.
It DOES NOT have to be this way!
Here are some tips to help you go through the Holidays without the extra pounds:
1- start now
: you don't have to wait for the New Year's resolutions, you can still enjoy the Holidays while taking healthy steps
2- Healthy environment
: There will be plenty of opportunities for extra eating, make sure you have healthy options on hand to help you when you are home.
3- Mindful eating
: paying close attention to what you are eating when you are eating it, this will help with enjoying more while eating less.
4- decide to be picky
: no bad food for me! Not always easy to do but choose to say no to what is going to hurt you so you can really enjoy the whole time.
5- Have an agenda
: Get a planner and write down every gathering, Holiday party, celebration and every other functions, this will make you "picture" what is ahead and help with getting reasonable. When your calendar fills up, you know you have to be careful!
6- Set limits
: Determine ahead how much time you will spend at your gatherings so you do not over indulge by staying longer than necessary
7- Team up and get support
: Take someone with you and let that person know about your goals so you are not alone and can seek support if you feel like you need some extra help resisting the temptations
8- Don't attend a party craving
! It just makes sense
9- Don't stand by the food
, get a plate with best options possible and go mingle a little further
10- If you bring food to a party
, be the vegetable platter, now you have another healthy option!

, chances are you will not go for that extra serving

: let them know you want to be reasonable so they don't offer all those chocolates
