November is diabetes awareness month

And it's also the beginning of holiday season....
Now, don't feel frustrated and let's look at the bright side of it:
When you have diabetes, your only choice is to have a healthy diet and a healthy life style. Beside diabetes, this way of life will help you in every areas of your life:
- your energy level
- immune system
- cholesterol
- weight management
- brain and mental alertness
- mood
- heart health
When you have diabetes you have to educate yourself. In that process, you will learn a lot about yourself.
As you will get rid of some bad habits, you will slowly build new ones, healthier ones which, as you will soon realize, make you feel wayyyy better.
Those new habits, even if at first look hard to build, will soon become your best friends.
Let's take that habit of a new diet:
Yes, some ingredients will have to come off... Doesn't mean you are not going to enjoy it, there are way more food options and possibilities than you can imagine and you will come to realize that those, not only can be yummy, but also have that SUPER POWER of making you feel better! Imagine not to have to feel those sugar spikes or down....Wouldn't that be GREAT, finally?!
Now let's take that new habit of exercising:
No one said you have to sign up for next month's marathon! Everything you have to do is getting started and keeping that motivation level going. Set yourself small, achievable goals at first and then, just go a little above them just for the pleasure of going further...It does feel good.
Slowly increase the time and level of exercising.
Before you know it, you will be looking for your next practice cession, whether it's walking, biking, hiking, gym or swimming.... And most of all, you will be ENJOYING it!
Every little step you take is good.
Chances are, will feel so GREAT that you might drag people around you in your journey. Whether you want to share with them, educate them or help them feel as good as you do. It could also very well be that people will be willing to follow your path for they notice how better and more energized you look.
So, what you might, in the first place have perceived as the hardest achievement of your life, will turn out to be the best thing of you life!
